Flag raise ceremony in celebration of the Ethiopian New Year

San Jose, California: Ethiopian Community has celebrated its 6th year flag raise ceremony in celebration of the Ethiopian New year. The event has fulfilled its purpose with hard working patriotic Ethiopians and friends of Ethiopians supports and the city mayor, the vice mayor and the counsel members of the city.

What makes this year’s celebration more special is that , his Holiness Abune Melesedek, Archbishop of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Untied States of America and Canada has been recognized by city of San Jose for his significant contribution In Ethiopian Orthodox Churches. His Holiness thanked the city of San Jose for their recognition of flag raising to well come 2003 Ethiopian new year, mean while the city council send a condolence to the community and the family of Zeni whose husband passed away.
